The Antiques Roadshow—365 votes

PBS’s Antiques Roadshow visits cities around the U.S., inviting people to bring family heirlooms and antiques for a free appraisal by experts from the leading auction houses, private dealers and independent appraisers nationwide. Hosted by Dan Elias of the Elias Fine Art Gallery in Boston, each program reveals the value of items that were often collecting dust in the owner’s attic only days before. This season includes the discovery of many unique items including a rather plain-looking but nonetheless rare Navajo blanket that was woven and dyed for a Ute chief between 1840 and 1860. The item was appraised at between $350,000 - $500,000, a record high for an item brought to the show. The Antiques Roadshow is produced for PBS by WGBH Boston.
